Learners at A.C.J. Phakade primary school in Nomzamo are back in class after a go-slow by teachers last week over sanitation problems.
Learners were told not to come to school last week when teachers held a go-slow last week because of the shortage of toilets for students and teachers and a broken sewage system that left a stench in the classrooms.
School principal Thobile Majingo said: “The students got back to school on Friday and everything is back to normal.”
He said the 30 mobile toilets at the school, which had been vandalised, were being fixed.
The school has been under construction since 2011 and classes are held in prefabricated buildings while the concrete classrooms are being built. Construction was halted last year.
