Opera singer Masakhane Sotayisi from Mandela Park in Khayelitsha has taken his love for dogs and made it into a business. Professional pooch cleaning is something you might think is only available in wealthy leafy suburbia, but there’s a need for it in Khayelitsha. As Sotayisi explains, if he keeps the dogs in his street clean, his own dogs are less likely to contract infections.

I would like to say thanks a lot for this type of business. I want to appreciate Mr Sotayisi for this opportunity that we have been blessed with. It's an honour to have someone who cares about animals and takes such a major step in making sure our pets are well taken care of at a very low rate. In places like Rondebosch or Constantia, it would easily cost R200–300 to wash a pet. The very same service. Thanks, bhuti, for this. We will continue to support you each and every day. May your business grow and may sponsors and customers flood your door.
