Ajax Cape Town, Sundowns, Supersport Unite, FC Cape Town
Which fellow footballers have you looked to for inspiration during your career?
I look up to guys like Daine Klate, Steven Pienaar and my fave players abroad are Iniesta and Coutinho.
Do you have a special routine or superstition before you play a big game?
I have routine, I just put in my headphones and focus on the game.
What are the remaining ambitious in your career?
My ambitions are to play in the PSL, in Europe and for Bafana.
What was it like being chosen for the national under 20 team?
It was good playing for the national team. It’s every player’s dream, and I was lucky to be part of all the big tournaments as well. It helped me grow as a footballer and gave me some good exposure.
What was your best ever individual performance in your career?
My best performance was probably in the 2009 Cosafa, where I played 5 games, scored 4 goals and 2 assists.
Tell us about your overseas experience. What was it like?
I played a lot of youth tournaments overseas, like Germany, Spain, Holland and England. I’ve been to Tottenham, where I trained with their 1st team and reserve team.
What was it like meeting David Beckham?
Meeting guys like Beckham, Modric, Bale, and others, was good - especially meeting Beckham. He’s the biggest role model in football. Players can learn a lot from someone like that.
Do you have any advice for GroundUp readers who wish to play professional soccer?
My advice to other readers are work hard, never give up, pray and God will do the rest.
