Lakey enjoys playing for cup winning Bloemfontein Celtic

GroundUp: Tell us about winning the Telkom Cup?

Lakey: Cup competitions are always different to the league. It was a tough road up to the final coming from behind in two of the games and then beating Free State Stars in the semi-final. It was a great feeling winning the cup. This was after my first few months at Bloemfontein Celtic. This was my first cup final and first major trophy with the team. It really felt great.

GroundUp: What clubs have you played for?

Lakey: Stephanians Ottery, Hellenic, Old Mutual Academy, Supersport, Tottenham Hotspurs Academy.

GroundUp: How did your career start?

Lakey: I started playing from the age of 5. I think it was in my genes. It runs in the family. I always had a love for the game and I even used to sleep with my boots on when I was a young boy.

**GroundUp: Who is your role model?

**Lakey: My father.

GroundUp: How has the season been for you?

Lakey: So far so good. As a team we doing well and we can only get better. I feel I’m improving every game and I would like to thank the coaches and my team-mates for the season.

GroundUp: What message would you give to youth?

Lakey: Keep working hard, always be disciplined and believe.
